Arcadis

Andrea is a ground engineering professional with over 25 years of UK and internationally experience mostly focused on major infrastructure and prime/super-prime development. He has an enduring interest in the adoption of new technology and innovation that started since working as post-graduate researcher on the application of GIS to geological surveys. Throughout his career he has pioneered new approaches ranging from the use, in the late 90s, of LiDAR to map unstable coastal areas, to adopting InSAR/Multispectral/CI remote sensing surveys, combined with innovative on-shore and off-shore geophysics and digital modelling, for the regional studies for the planned Lower Thames Crossing- UK (the case study has been included in CIRIA’s “InSAR and Earth Observation techniques for infrastructure”). He has been the co-recipient of the 2023 Bentley’s Going Digital Awards in Infrastructure 2023, in the Subsurface Modelling and Analyses category for an innovative solution for South Dock bridge in Canary Wharf-London. Andrea leads Arcadis Global’ 3D sub-surface digital initiative to deliver digital twins of the ground for BIM environment and design.
