Geoptic Infrastructure Investigations

Geoptic has pioneered the application of muon tomography - a novel imaging technology - to rail, CCS and nuclear waste. Muon tomography works in a similar way to X-rays and is sensitive to density variations in difficult to access objects. Muons are created naturally, are freely available and can easily penetrate many tens of metres of rock. The technology is non-invasive thus no contact with any infrastructure is needed for density variations to be mapped and imaged. The technology has been successfully applied in a programme spanning a dozen rail tunnels on Network Rail's Wales and Western region in which high fidelity 3D images of voiding and hidden shafts have been created, thus aiding remedial action planning for asset managers. The technology was applied in summer 2023 to a world’s first imaging of an injected CO2 plume in the CCS process and is being assessed for the nuclear waste industry.

Functioning like a VR headset but with far more space, the immersive space allows for whole groups to enter and work collaboratively, including remote teams who can dial in. What’s more, it can be configured to any shape or size you wish, including retrofit rooms. It is a proven and effective tool that has been shown to significantly reduce carbon footprint, get companies quicker sign-off, improve health and safety for employees, and save companies large sums of money. Powering the space is Igloo Core Engine, the software platform for immersive spaces which is developed to be user-friendly and content-agnostic. It has a large number of AEC integrations such as Unity, Unreal, Matterport, Luminova, Baselinez, and many more.

CheckedSafe

CheckedSafe has created an innovative and fully remote, user-friendly and cost effective solution for checking driving licences. This checking service has simplified fleet management by using innovative tech to manage a tricky time consuming task. Further the risk scoring enables fleets to properly mitigate the risks of drivers. In addition the management of records and reminders is also simplified by an online dashboard. We were recently informed on a DVLA audit, we are the only company in the UK who is checking licences this way, which shows our dedication to innovation. We are also constantly looking to develop our services and features, and we are set to launch our new GB Domestic Drivers Hours App in July. By using existing tech, customers have no further capital outlay meaning cost is not a barrier to safety and compliance. Since launching this service in January 2023, we have checked over 6000 licences.

Qflow's technology is designed to be user friendly, and easy to deploy across construction teams requiring minimal training. It's as simple as taking a selfie. Qflow is easily scalable which means if construction companies require us on more projects, we can happily provide this service in a matter of days. Qflow has demonstrated client satisfaction and should be considered for this award. We have several video case studies to highlight how Qflow has helped companies reach their sustainability and efficiency goals resulting in an 85% - 90% reduction in time spent collecting data and a 406% improvement in waste data quality.

As of June 2023, all new and refurbished homes in England and Wales must now meet new energy performance targets set out by Part L Building Regulations on the journey to the Future Homes Standard 2025. To be compliant, housebuilders and developers must digitally record and submit photographic evidence of work done and materials used during the construction or refurbishment of a property. Zutec’s user-friendly platform, designed by industry experts and used by leading housebuilders and developers such as Taylor Wimpey, Gleeson, and Stonebridge Homes, simplifies the process of gathering and submitting required evidence. Teams can easily capture, store, share, and manage geolocated photographic evidence for the Buildings Regulations England Part L (BREL) report using a mobile device with just a few clicks.
