Berta Kardelyte
Mott Macdonald
I am a software developer and ECP innovation lead working for Mott MacDonald in Digital Ventures unit. I have been working on an award-winning innovative mapping solution called Moata Geospatial creating state of the art back-end solutions to improve the tool. I have developed innovative technical designs for new functionality that make our tool stand out from competitors. Furthermore, as an innovation lead, I have been helping create and progress innovative ideas within our region, including facilitating the establishment of our new initiative called the Digital Innovation Management Service that has already been winning new work for Mott MacDonald.
Nathan Lavenstein
Mott Macdonald
As the information manager for the Design Joint Venture (DJV) utilities design coordination on HS2 Phase 1 N1N2, I have supported a team of over 70 people to deliver a digital-first BIM design. Beginning as a new graduate learning the software for the first time, I have always sought out the change to increase my knowledge and understanding of the project processes. I am now leaving the proejct having managed the discipline's delivery over a 10km section of the route for a year, gaining positive feedback from within my team, other disciplines and the client.
Oana Sala
Expedition Engineering
In the past year, I've passionately dedicated myself to driving innovation and productivity in the infrastructure industry. At Expedition Engineering, I've made significant contributions by facilitating cross-industry collaborations to accelerate decarbonisation, minimizing carbon emissions in rail projects, and creating an H&S Tool for enhanced worker safety. These endeavours showcase my dedication to creating a positive impact. Moreover, my active involvement in ICE Early Careers, particularly during Innovation Month, has enabled me to promote knowledge sharing and empower young professionals to drive innovation within their respective companies.
Drew Waller
Aecom
Drew has quickly established himself in the industry, delivering digital tools, data consultancy, and AI solutions. An Acoustic Engineering background gives him a unique understanding of the problems and opportunities engineers face with data. The success of his award-winning AI algorithm that geolocated flood images meant that after excellent client feedback the innovation was also mentioned in The Times. Along with being vital to the growth of his team and supporting the digital transformation of AECOM and clients, Drew has presented at a conference and been part of a QA panel discussing the future of AI in Engineering.
Iman Warsame
Ramboll
Iman's contributions to the industry are characterised by his exceptional contributions to advancing civil engineering using digital technology. His pioneering work across a number of projects, automating analysis and streamlining processes has resulted in significant time savings and error reduction. He also developed innovative solutions, such as a risk identification program and project intelligence platform, improving efficiency, accuracy, and collaboration. Iman's proactive approach to sharing his expertise, supporting colleagues and keeping engaged with the industry further demonstrates his leadership and impact. His outstanding achievements in pushing the envelope for digital technology make them a deserving candidate for this prestigious award.
