Best Use of Technology: Health, Safety & Wellbeing Award
This category recognises teams using technology on site or behind the scenes to boost the health, safety & wellbeing of the global civil engineering industry through better design and delivery. This may be through automation and industrialisation of processes or other methods that bring the construction industry closer to other, more productive industries such as manufacturing.
The technology must be being used on a specific project (as a trial or as a full-blown part of the project). The entry should:
- Demonstrate how the innovation, technology-led product or app is leading to a more efficient outcome, better use of resources, or having a positive impact on a specific project goal or KPI
- Describe the research, development and innovation strategy that led to the development of the innovation, referencing any innovation groups or funds you have worked with
- Set out how its success is being measured and offer results to date
- Explain how the innovation could be scaled up and your ambition for its wider use
The entry process
Shortlisted teams will pitch their innovation to our judges and industry peers in an open session at the Festival on 24th September 2020 and feature in New Civil Engineer so you must be prepared to share your work with a wide audience.
Entries are free and you are able to enter several innovations in one category or enter as many categories as you see fit, having reviewed the specific category criteria.
Coverage will also be given across New Civil Engineer in print and online, so you must be prepared for your entry details to be publicised.
Entries from companies, project teams, joint ventures or collaborations are welcomed.
